Overview of the Provincial Revenue and Expenditure (OPRE) Financial Year 2023/24
Provincial own revenue into account of R1.689 billion, the deficit before financing amounts to R2.002 billion.
This deficit is subsequently funded from the Provincial own reserves amounting to R2.731 billion, which
results in a surplus after financing of R729.414 million. It should be noted that over the 2023 MTEF, the
surpluses are already committed for allocations to departments.
